On August 26, MCC Utility Tunnel Technology Research Institute and Shanghai Baoye jointly won the bid for the underground utility tunnel construction project in Shunda Road and Chengxiang Road, Jinwan District, Zhuhai City.
The project is located in Jinwan District, Zhuhai City. The new underground utility tunnel is about 4.3 kilometers long, of which the Shunda Road section (Zhuhai Avenue to Binhe Road) is 1,795 meters long, and the Chengxiang Road section (Jichang Road East to Shuanghu Road) is about 2.5 kilometers long.
According to the Regulations on the Management of Underground Utility Tunnel of Zhuhai Special Economic Zone, the newly built roads in Zhuhai new urban districts, various industrial parks and development areas should be planned the utility tunnels dominated by trunk and branch lines tunnels in accordance with functional requirements. The long-term plan of Zhuhai's underground utility tunnel is that by 2020, the total length of the underground utility tunnel in Zhuhai will reach about 100 kilometers; the long-range plan is that by 2060, the total length of the underground utility tunnel in Zhuhai will reach about 200 kilometers, and each area will form a relatively independent and connected underground utility tunnel system.
